Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made a statement regarding the agreement reached between Ukraine and Hungary on the protection of minority rights.
Tsahkna stated that the compromise removed a significant obstacle in Ukraine’s European Union (EU) accession process and gave new momentum to the negotiations.
The statement emphasized that both Ukraine and Moldova remain committed to their EU membership goals, while also noting that the European Union must assume its responsibility in the enlargement process.
Tsahkna added: "Both countries have demonstrated their commitment to the reforms required for EU membership. Now it is the EU’s turn not to leave that commitment unanswered. Enlargement is not only about the future of the candidate countries; it is also an investment in the security, stability, and prosperity of our entire continent."
