UAE intercepts missile and drone attack originating from Iran
Abu Dhabi, March 15 (Hibya) - On March 15, 2026, the United Arab Emirates’ air defense intercepted 4 ballistic missiles and 6 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran. The attacks resulted in 6 deaths and 142 injuries.
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that on March 15, four ballistic missiles and six unmanned aerial vehicles originating from Iran were successfully intercepted. Ministry officials stated that during the attacks launched by Iran, a total of 298 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,606 UAVs have been intercepted.
As a result of the attacks, 6 people lost their lives; the deceased were nationals of the UAE, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. A total of 142 people suffered minor and moderate injuries and are of multiple nationalities, including citizens of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, India, the Philippines, Türkiye, and several other countries.
The ministry stated that they remain on high alert against any attacks threatening the country’s security and will act decisively to protect sovereignty, security, and stability.
