UAE Ministry of Defense: 12 ballistic missiles and 19 drones neutralized
Abu Dhabi, April 6 (Hibya) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense shared details of defense operations against missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks originating from Iran and provided updated data on the human toll of the attacks.
The UAE Ministry of Defense provided information on the performance of air defense systems over the past 24 hours and cumulative data since the beginning of the attacks.
The statement said: "On April 6, 2026, UAE air defense neutralized 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 19 UAVs launched from Iran. Since the beginning of the attacks, our systems have successfully countered a total of 519 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,210 UAVs."
Regarding civilian casualties, the Ministry stated that 4 people were injured to varying degrees in recent hours, bringing the total number of injured to 221. It was noted that the injured include nationals from 31 different countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Russia, and Sweden.
As for fatalities, the Ministry reported that no deaths were recorded in recent hours. However, since the beginning of the attacks, the total number of deaths has risen to 2, including a Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces. The total number of deaths recorded stands at 10, including civilians from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, and Egypt.
