In a statement marking Holocaust Remembrance Day, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “The Holocaust, in which six million Jews were systematically murdered, stands as one of the darkest stains in human history.”

Starmer noted that each victim was an individual life destroyed by an ideology of hatred, adding that this hatred aimed to eradicate the entire Jewish people.

Emphasizing that remembering the Holocaust is the strongest defense against denial, distortion, and prejudice, Starmer said that remembrance is therefore vital.

Prime Minister Starmer stressed that antisemitism must be confronted wherever it appears, stating that “Never again” must be not merely a repeated phrase, but a commitment that must be fulfilled.
