Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sybiha held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the G7 summit in Evian.

Sybiha said the meeting was important for exchanging views ahead of leader-level contacts.

Congratulating the US on its agreement with Iran, Sybiha expressed hope that the development would contribute to regional security and stability in energy markets.

He conveyed Zelensky’s expectation that the agreement could revive US-led efforts to end the Russia–Ukraine war.

The meeting also addressed steps needed to advance the peace process and bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.

Sybiha also raised Russian attacks on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and other civilian, cultural and historical sites, saying this shows Moscow is waging a war against Ukrainian identity.

He emphasized the need for strong US leadership and support, and shared updates on developments on the ground and the impact of long-range sanctions against Russia.
