Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasizes independence in Statehood Day message
Kyiv, July 15 (Hibya) - In a message marking Ukraine's Statehood Day, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the country's more than one-thousand-year state tradition and its struggle for independence.
In its message issued on the occasion of Ukraine's Statehood Day, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of independence.
In the ministry's statement, it was noted that Ukraine's state tradition traces its roots to the medieval Kyivan Rus' state. "Ukraine's Statehood Day honors our more than one-thousand-year state tradition and everyone who has contributed to Ukraine's existence as an independent and democratic state," the statement said.
The statement also stressed that Ukrainians have defended their right to live freely in their own country throughout the centuries.
