UN Central Emergency Response Fund allocates 6 million dollars to Nigeria
New York, June 9 (Hibya) – UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that 6 million dollars will be allocated to Nigeria from the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (UNCERF).
Fletcher stated that the funds are in response to the worst malnutrition crisis in Nigeria in the last five years.
He emphasized the need to deliver food to those in urgent need and to implement systems that will reduce the risk of future crises.
