UN High Commissioner Türk: War is not inevitable
New York, 28 January (Hibya) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said that war is not inevitable and that civilians suffer when countries use military force.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Türk stated that war is not inevitable and said it cannot be accepted as a new normal.
Noting that civilians suffer when countries resort to military force, Türk said: “We need stronger and more comprehensive efforts to build lasting peace through human rights and international law.”
