UNRWA: Siege caused shortage of hygiene supplies and clean water
New York, June 7 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that the ongoing siege in Gaza has led to a severe shortage of hygiene supplies and clean water.
In a statement, UNRWA reported that the continued siege in Gaza has resulted in a critical lack of hygiene materials and clean drinking water.
Many women and girls are forced to improvise by using old clothes or torn fabric instead of sanitary pads, and often reuse them without proper washing. The statement reads: “Women and girls speak of deep shame, fear of leakage, and constant anxiety leading to shame, fear, and distress.”
