The U.S. Department of State announced that it has revoked the visas of several foreign nationals who were found to pose a threat to public safety.

In a statement posted on its social media account, the department said the U.S. administration revoked the visas of "irresponsible foreign drivers" and barred them from returning to the country in order to keep them off American roads.

The statement included examples of foreign nationals linked to drunk driving, traffic violations, violent conduct, and other criminal offenses.

It said one individual was arrested for disorderly conduct, violently resisting police officers, driving under the influence, and domestic violence, while another drove heavily intoxicated with a child inside the vehicle.

The department also stated that several individuals had driven with blood alcohol levels far above the legal limit and engaged in dangerous behavior, resulting in the revocation of their visas.

The U.S. Department of State said that under the Trump administration, visas of foreign nationals who threaten the safety of American citizens will continue to be revoked and that national security will remain a top priority.
