Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met in Tokyo with Japanese politician and Chairman of the Uzbekistan-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship League Taro Aso.

In a post on his social media account, Saidov said Aso, as vice president of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party and chairman of the Uzbekistan-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship League, has personally contributed for many years to the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The meeting addressed the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, and the expansion of cooperation in trade, the economy and investment.

Saidov also said the meeting emphasized the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in fully implementing agreements reached at the highest level.
