European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the importance of the partnership between the European Union (EU) and NATO, drawing attention to the current period of rising global risks.

Assessing the current global security environment, von der Leyen said, "In a more dangerous world, the EU-NATO partnership is more important than ever."

Referring to the current military efforts of European countries, von der Leyen stated, "European states are making major investments in their defence. They are building stronger, combat-ready, and interoperable forces."

Addressing the structural development of the defence sector and its societal impact, von der Leyen concluded, "They are strengthening Europe's defence industry. And they are providing greater security, better jobs, and stronger growth for Europeans."
