European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke about her productive meeting with business representatives and the European Union’s economic roadmap for the future.

Expressing her satisfaction with the meeting and referring to trade strategies, von der Leyen said: “Great discussions with Business Europe. Europe’s competitiveness and employment were addressed in two key dimensions. We must continue to diversify our trade relations beyond our borders. Less dependence means greater resilience.”

Highlighting the goal of strengthening Europe’s internal market, von der Leyen stated: “We must continue to strengthen Europe’s industrial base from within.”

Emphasizing investment and innovation, von der Leyen concluded: “Through our One Europe, One Market Roadmap, we will make Europe the best place to invest, innovate, and scale up.”
