Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel made statements regarding the visit of Ukrainian officials to the Netherlands, stressing that the Netherlands’ support for Ukraine will continue with determination.

Noting that he is aware of the threat facing Europe, van Weel said that the only response to Russia’s aggressive stance is increased pressure.

Van Weel said: “The Netherlands is committed to a lasting peace that safeguards Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensures our collective security. Europe knows what the danger is. The only response to Russia’s relentless aggression is more pressure.”

Van Weel also stated that he reiterated his political, military and civilian support to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and assessed the adoption of the agreement on establishing a Compensation Commission for Ukraine.

Van Weel said: “I assured Minister Sybiha of our unwavering political, military and civilian support. The adoption today of the agreement to establish a Compensation Commission for Ukraine is an important milestone in our accountability efforts. We are pleased to serve as the host country.”
