Zakharova: Commission increased EU’s dependence on US energy
Moscow, July 30 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the European Commission increased the European Union’s (EU) dependence on US energy under the pretext of reducing reliance on Russian resources.
Zakharova said that the promise by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to purchase US energy resources undermines the economic sovereignty of EU member states.
She added that the Commission used the excuse of decreasing reliance on Russian supplies to deepen dependence on American energy.
