The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding Montenegro's decision to implement a visa regime for Russian citizens.

In the statement made by Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that this decision taken by the Podgorica administration will directly negatively affect Montenegro's economy and tourism.

In her statement, Zakharova expressed the following:

"Montenegro's introduction of a visa regime with Russia will reduce the tourist flow, harm Montenegrin businesses, and worsen the investment climate in the country. This decision of Podgorica clearly harms Montenegro's own national interests."
