Kyiv, August 1 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that, according to preliminary reports, nine people were killed and many others were injured in Russia's overnight attacks on Kyiv and its surrounding areas.

Zelensky stated that the attacks damaged 18 residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy, and various infrastructure facilities. He added that Russia used 35 missiles and 185 drones during the night.
Saying that ballistic missile interceptors for Patriot air defense systems were in short supply, Zelensky called on allied countries to increase their air defense support for Ukraine.
