Zelensky: I am grateful to the Latvian Government for their assistance and the new defense package
Kyiv, July 15 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa to discuss strengthening defense support for Ukrainian soldiers and Ukraine’s path to European integration.
President Zelensky expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Evika Siliņa and her team on Ukraine’s Statehood Day.
The meeting addressed the battlefield situation, the effectiveness of drones, provision of supplies to Ukrainian soldiers, and the financial mechanisms for military assistance under the EU’s SAFE (European Security Assistance) program.
The leaders also discussed the implementation of new defense aid packages from NATO member states.
Additionally, they reviewed political support for Ukraine’s EU membership and efforts needed to open six negotiation clusters this year.
