Zelensky: I appreciate Meloni's clear and principled stance
Rome, April 26 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome.
President Zelensky stated that he discussed with Prime Minister Meloni the importance of security guarantees for Ukraine and efforts to restore peace and protect lives.
He noted that Ukraine had accepted a full and unconditional ceasefire 46 days ago, while Russia has continued killing their people, and added: "Therefore, special emphasis was placed on the importance of exerting pressure on Russia. I appreciate Giorgia Meloni’s clear and principled stance."
Zelensky also provided information about the constructive meetings held by the Ukrainian delegation with representatives of the US, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany in Paris and London, stating: "There is a common position: an unconditional ceasefire must be the first step towards achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine."
