Zelensky meets with Lagarde
Kyiv, October 10 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his meeting with European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, emphasized that efforts to repair the energy system continue after Russia’s massive attacks and stressed the importance of using frozen Russian assets fairly in Ukraine’s reconstruction.
During his meeting with Christine Lagarde, President Zelensky discussed the effects of recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. He noted that Russia used dozens of missiles, including over 450 drones and ballistic missiles, and that repair teams are working across various regions of the country.
Zelensky stated that they are doing everything possible to restore normal life and emphasized that Russia must be held accountable for actions that prolong the war and destroy lives.
The meeting also addressed the importance of using frozen Russian assets fairly to help revive life in Ukraine. Zelensky underlined that sufficient political will in Europe is crucial and said that most partner countries support this initiative and that he is confident they will act.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that they will continue to work closely with other European leaders.
