Zelensky: The violence of the Iranian regime and its regional impacts cannot be ignored
Kyiv, February 2 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an assessment of developments in Iran and the role of the Tehran administration in regional conflicts.
Zelensky said that the scale of deaths in Iran and the investments made by the Iranian regime to spread war and violence across the region and the world are visible to the entire international community.
Emphasizing that Ukraine will not forget the attacks carried out with Iranian-made “Shahed” unmanned aerial vehicles, Zelensky stated that these attacks targeted Ukrainian cities, villages, and civilians. He noted that in Europe, the voices of countries calling for a more principled and stronger stance on Iran are being heard.
Zelensky stated that the European Union has largely reached consensus on recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, one of the core structures of the Iranian regime, as a terrorist organization, and that the process is continuing within the framework of European legal procedures.
He added that Ukraine had already made this decision and recognized the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, saying: “For us, this issue is closed. All terrorist organizations in the world must be assessed in the same way.”
