Zelensky: We are doing everything to protect Ukraine’s interests
Kyiv, May 19 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made statements regarding the European foreign policy agenda, the European Union (EU) accession process, and regional diplomatic contacts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that together with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, they updated the European foreign policy agenda. Diplomatic processes with Hungary, Georgia, and the European Union (EU) were discussed during the meetings.
President Zelensky stated that active dialogue is continuing with Hungary’s new administration and said there are “promising expectations” for a constructive new beginning in relations. It was noted that the Ukrainian side is preparing for a bilateral consultation format.
Commenting on the EU accession process, Zelensky said, “Ukraine has taken the necessary steps, and it is important to have a clear timeline for the processes.”
Information regarding relations with Georgia was also shared during the meeting, and it was stated that the goal of cooperation based on normalization and mutual respect continues.
President Zelensky also said that tasks regarding the process of ending the war with Russia and Europe’s role had been determined, adding, “We expect Europe to be strong, and we are doing everything to protect Ukraine’s interests. Glory to Ukraine.”
