Zelensky: We invite our European partners to join the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition
Kyiv, Aug. 3 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on European countries to join the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition and support the project under the FREYJA air defense system initiative.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the first phase of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition would be based on the FREYJA air defense system.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine has missiles and launch systems but still needs several critical components. He added that partner countries possessing the required technologies have been brought together to address these gaps.
Zelensky invited countries operating Patriot missile systems to join the coalition, stressing the importance of contributing both critical components and financial support to the project.
Noting that Europe has a defense industry market worth billions of dollars, Zelensky said their goal is joint production and cooperation with defense companies in Sweden, Germany, Italy, and the United States rather than competition. He also claimed that Russia might attempt to delay this cooperation.
