Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that these steps by the international community are of great importance for the safety of children and the establishment of justice.

Sharing details about the scope of the sanctions, Zelensky said: “We thank the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union for the important sanctions decisions targeting Russian organizations and individuals involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children.”

Zelensky stated: “The United Kingdom has imposed restrictions on 85 individuals and legal entities involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children, the imposition of Russian ideology on them, their Russification and militarization, and Russian propaganda activities.”

Referring to Canada’s decisions, Zelensky added: “Canada is also imposing sanctions on another 23 individuals and five organizations responsible for the illegal deportation and forced displacement of our children, as well as their ideological indoctrination and militarization.”
