Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that the strong interest shown by companies from various countries in the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo reflects confidence in the future of the Chinese economy.

The 4th China International Supply Chain Expo opened yesterday in Beijing. The event brought together more than 1,200 participants, including foreign companies, while U.S. companies and institutions once again ranked first among foreign participants.

At a regular press briefing held today, Guo Jiakun responded to a question from a China Media Group (CMG) reporter regarding China's efforts to further expand its opening-up through various exhibitions at a time when some countries are adopting protectionist policies and “building walls.”

Guo Jiakun noted that the China International Supply Chain Expo is the world's first national-level exhibition dedicated to supply chains and said that it provides an important platform for promotion and cooperation for both Chinese and foreign companies.

Pointing out that participants from 85 countries and regions attended this year's expo, Guo said that the share of foreign exhibitors exceeded 36 percent, while Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders accounted for more than 65 percent of all participants.

Guo Jiakun emphasized that the enthusiastic participation of companies from different countries clearly demonstrates the importance attached to China's vast market and also serves as concrete evidence of the international business community's confidence in the future of the Chinese economy.
