Al Khulaifi meets foreign ministers of Burkina Faso, Liberia, Niger and Gambia
Doha, November 5 (Hibya) – The Qatari Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, met with the foreign ministers of Burkina Faso, Liberia, Niger and Gambia.
Al Khulaifi met with Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabé Abroad, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré; Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti; Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré; Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Sering Modou Njie; Mali’s Minister of Health and Social Development, Assa Badiallo Toure; and the African Union’s Special Representative for Mali and the Sahel and Head of the AU Mission for Mali and the Sahel (MISAHEL), Mamadou Tangara, on the sidelines of the Second World Social Development Summit.
The meeting discussed Qatar’s constructive cooperation relations with the five countries and the African Union, ways to strengthen these ties, recent developments in the Sahel region, efforts to promote security and stability, and regional cooperation mechanisms to help achieve peace and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
The importance of coordinating regional and international efforts to address the humanitarian and security challenges facing the countries of the region and to support development was also emphasized.
