Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a phone call with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

During the call, the two sides discussed advancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as Pakistan-led mediation efforts between the United States of America (USA) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "They also discussed coordinating efforts to support mediation aimed at reducing tensions, thereby helping to enhance security and stability in the region. His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of all parties responding constructively to the ongoing mediation efforts in order to address the roots of the crisis through diplomacy and pave the way for sustainable peace."
