Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani spoke by phone with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty.

During the call, the escalating military situation in the region and its serious implications for regional and international security and stability were discussed, along with ways to resolve all disputes through peaceful means.

Al Thani reiterated his condemnation of Iran’s attacks on Qatari territory, stressing that these attacks are unacceptable under any justification or pretext, and noted that the State of Qatar has always sought to stay away from regional conflicts and has tried to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community.

Foreign Minister Al Thani also emphasized the need to immediately halt all escalatory actions, return to the negotiating table, and prioritize reason and wisdom in order to contain the crisis and preserve the security of the region.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister, for his part, called for de-escalation, the use of reason, and a return to negotiations and diplomatic channels to prevent further chaos.
