Araghchi and Vieira held a phone conversation
Tehran, 19 November (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira held a phone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and international developments.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira held a telephone call on Wednesday afternoon, during which they discussed bilateral relations and international developments.
The parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations was also highlighted.
Araghchi referred to the need to prevent some countries from using international institutions as tools to pressure developing states. He described the attempt by three European countries to impose an anti-Iran draft resolution at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting as an inappropriate step. He said this move was irresponsible, provocative, and unfair, and a continuation of the political approach pursued by the European trio and the United States at the UN Security Council, undermining the technical credibility of the IAEA.
Araghchi called on all IAEA Board members to oppose this unlawful initiative.
The parties also emphasized the importance of maintaining diplomatic cooperation, continuing regular consultations, and discussing a roadmap for future cooperation.
