Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued a statement after the completion of the government formation process in Iraq and the new cabinet’s vote of confidence.

Extending his congratulations to the new government, Araghchi said, “I congratulate the formation of the new Iraqi government under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Zaidi and welcome my brother Fuad Hussein’s continuation as Iraq’s Foreign Minister.”

Highlighting Iran’s ties with Iraq, Araghchi concluded his statement by saying, “The expansion of friendly and brotherly relations between Tehran and Baghdad continues to be one of the most important priorities in our foreign policy.”
