Pavel: European funds should be directed to education and cybersecurity projects
Prague, May 14 (Hibya) - Czech President Petr Pavel stated that European Union funds should be transferred more effectively to projects in strategic areas, emphasizing that the future EU budget must adapt to new security realities.
Czech President Petr Pavel made a statement on fund management and regional development goals following his meeting with European Commissioner Raffaele Fitto.
Drawing attention to priority areas in the use of funds, Pavel said, “European funds should be directed quickly and effectively to specific projects in the regions. Especially in the Czech Republic, the use of these resources in the fields of education, research, transport, digitalization, and cybersecurity is of great importance.”
Stating that the EU’s financial future was also discussed at the meeting, Pavel said, “I discussed this issue with European Commissioner Raffaele Fitto. We also addressed the future EU budget, which should better respond to new threats and changing security realities, including giving greater importance to defense.”
