Araghchi: The presence of external forces in our region has escalated tensions instead of reducing them
Tehran, January 31 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi responded to U.S. attempts to interfere in the military activities of the Iranian Armed Forces on their own territory.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that the U.S. is trying to interfere in the military activities of the Iranian Armed Forces within their own territory.
Araghchi emphasized that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) demands “professionalism” from a national army that is designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization, while the same structure acknowledges its right to conduct military exercises.
Araghchi pointed out that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has played a key role in ensuring peace and stability in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. "Freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the security of commercial ships' passage is as vital to Iran as it is to our neighbors. The presence of external forces in our region has always produced the opposite result, escalating tensions instead of reducing them," he said.
