Bermudez speaks with Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary Lam
Havana, January 27 (Hibya) – President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez held a telephone conversation with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, congratulated him on his re-election and reiterated his commitment to strengthening inter-party cooperation between the two countries.
During the phone call with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Cuban President Bermudez congratulated him on his re-election and conveyed his best wishes for success. Bermudez thanked Vietnam for its continued support for inter-party cooperation and reiterated his determination to deepen cooperation and the exchange of experience between Cuba and Vietnam.
President Bermudez also recalled that torches would be lit on the eve of the birthday of José Martí, a symbol of Cuba’s independence and anti-imperialism.
He further noted that a special march would be organized to mark the centenary of the birth of Fidel Castro, a key figure in Cuba’s revolutionary history, saying: “Tonight another motivation brings us together: we are marching for the centenary of Fidel, the university revolutionary.”
