Budrys: Europe’s security architecture should be built on deterring Russia
Limassol, May 28 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys emphasized deterrence against Russia, stating that Europe’s security strategy should prioritize the eastern flank.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys made statements ahead of the Informal Meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers.
Budrys stated that existential threats should be prioritized in Europe’s security strategy, adding that these threats are currently concentrated especially on the Eastern Flank.
Emphasizing that security in Eastern Europe must be strengthened, Budrys called for faster action, the development of financing mechanisms, and increased resilience.
Budrys said that Europe’s future security architecture should be built on deterrence against Russia and stressed that Ukraine must be at the center of this structure.
