Cholera vaccination campaign launched in Sudan
Geneva, September 22 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the launch of a cholera vaccination campaign for people in Sudan’s Darfur region.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that the WHO and its partners have launched a cholera vaccination campaign for the population in Sudan’s Darfur region.
He noted that they aim to vaccinate 1.86 million people to protect Darfur’s citizens and end the outbreak. “We are calling for continuous and safe access to ensure the campaign’s success and prevent further delays. Lives depend on it,” Ghebreyesus said.
