Israeli Foreign Minister Sa’ar and Australian opposition leader Ley held a phone call
Tel Aviv, September 22 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar held a phone conversation with Australian opposition leader Sussan Ley.
The call addressed the Australian Government’s decision to recognize the “State of Palestine,” the ongoing war in Gaza, and bilateral relations between Israel and Australia.
Sa’ar noted his satisfaction with Ley’s statement that the Australian Government’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine would be reversed in the event of a change of government.
Sa’ar added: “During the conversation, I explained to her Israel’s goals in the war in Gaza and the great efforts being made to ensure the continuation of humanitarian aid under difficult conditions. I emphasized that Israel is aware of the many friends it has in Australia and distinguishes between the Australian people and the government. I also invited Ms. Ley to visit Israel.”
