Costa announced that this week he had very positive phone conversations with President Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Highlighting that the historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is an important step towards lasting peace for both countries and the region, Costa said:

“The EU is determined to support the implementation of the agreement, strengthen regional connections, help communities overcome long-standing conflicts, and move towards lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.”
