Sybiha: A full ceasefire is essential to open the peace process
Kyiv, August 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russia has not achieved any of its strategic objectives in Ukraine, stressing that a full ceasefire is essential to open the peace process.
Foreign Minister Sybiha made a statement regarding his phone call with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares.
He noted that they agreed the only effective approach in negotiations with Russia is to achieve peace through strength, adding that Russia has not been able to achieve any of its strategic objectives in Ukraine.
Sybiha emphasized that now is the decisive moment when Europe and transatlantic unity and strength will prevail, and added:
“To open the peace process, a full ceasefire is essential. We also discussed steps to strengthen Ukraine, increase the cost of the war for the aggressor, and fully utilize frozen assets. We are grateful to Spain for its unwavering solidarity with Ukraine.”
