Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made remarks on water security issues in South Asia, the strategic importance of the Indus Waters Treaty for regional stability, and the principles of international law.

Expressing his satisfaction with participating in the seminar and emphasizing the significance of the treaty, Dar said: "Leading experts from Pakistan and abroad addressed one of the most critical challenges of our time in South Asia. I stressed that the Indus Waters Treaty is not merely a water-sharing agreement but a vital instrument for regional peace, stability, and cooperation."

Emphasizing that water resources should be managed through diplomacy and international law, Dar stated: "Shared waters should never be used as a weapon. They must remain a bridge between nations, guided by cooperation, dialogue, and respect for international law."

Stressing that safeguarding Pakistan's rights under the treaty is crucial for regional stability, Dar concluded: "Any attempt to deprive Pakistan of its rights under the Treaty would have profound consequences for regional peace and security and would undermine the shared interests of nearly two billion people in South Asia."
