Dar held a meeting in Washington, D.C. with Marco Rubio and the U.S. National Security Advisor.

According to a statement by the Government of Pakistan, the parties expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan–U.S. relations over the past year. They agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, cultural cooperation, and security.

The meeting also addressed counterterrorism and regional security issues. The Pakistani side referred to U.S. President Donald Trump's vision for peace and his initiatives aimed at reducing regional tensions. Diplomatic engagements with Pakistan led by U.S. Vice President JD Vance were also discussed.

The statement noted that the U.S. side appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediation efforts, and both sides agreed to continue high-level contacts between the two countries.

Pakistan’s security concerns related to Afghanistan were also raised during the meeting, and the need for stronger cooperation in counterterrorism was emphasized.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Pakistan–U.S. partnership in pursuit of regional peace, security, and economic prosperity.
