According to the ministry’s statement, Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Dilov met with European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Robert de Groot. Dilov and de Groot discussed financing opportunities for projects and initiatives of Bulgarian small and medium-sized companies.

During the meeting, current trends and priorities in the EIB’s policy supporting investments aligned with the EU’s core strategies were presented.

Minister Dilov noted that the Ministry of Economy and Industry is actively working to strengthen the competitiveness of Bulgaria’s economy.

He emphasized that small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of the Bulgarian economy and that efforts are underway to expand their access to European and national financial instruments supporting digitalization, energy efficiency, technology transfer, innovation, and increased production capacity.

De Groot presented the bank’s strategic guidelines aimed at supporting high value-added projects that contribute to sustainable growth and the achievement of the EU’s climate goals.
