Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten issued a statement regarding the act of vandalism that took place in the city of Engelen.

In a post on his social media account, Jetten described the incident as “ugly vandalism,” adding that one of the fundamental values of Dutch society is the ability to live together despite differences.

Jetten said that different opinions can coexist within society and should be addressed through mutual dialogue, stressing that there can be no justification for acts intended to intimidate those who support people who fled their countries because of war.
