Spanish Foreign Minister Albares meets with UK Foreign Secretary Miliband
Madrid, July 29 (Hibya) - Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said relations with the United Kingdom are experiencing one of their best periods and announced that the two countries would strengthen cooperation in the fields of climate and energy.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares made statements on bilateral relations following his meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.
Albares said that relations between Spain and the United Kingdom are going through "one of their best periods." He noted that the agreement reached on Gibraltar and the removal of the border crossing demonstrated that dialogue, cooperation, and multilateralism improve the lives of citizens.
Albares said that he and the United Kingdom's new Foreign Secretary, Ed Miliband, agreed to strengthen economic and people-to-people ties and announced the signing of a joint declaration supporting cooperation on climate action and energy.
Albares added that bilateral relations between the two countries are at their highest level and that ties between the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as international cooperation, will continue to be strengthened.
