EU provides health and shelter assistance to Gaza ahead of winter
Brussels, 24 November (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that needs in Gaza remain extremely high, stressing that with winter approaching, support in health and shelter is of vital importance.
Commissioner Lahbib announced that last week the European Union and its humanitarian partners — the World Health Organization (WHO), the German Red Cross (DRK), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Medical Aid for Palestinians — shipped 26 tons of health and shelter supplies to Egypt to be delivered to Gaza.
Lahbib emphasized that the aid is critical to meeting the basic needs of civilians living under very difficult circumstances.
