Ghebreyesus stated that the Cambodian Government, together with Gavi, WHO, and partner organizations, is working tirelessly to protect every child from measles.

He noted that the nationwide effort since May has reached schools, communities, and temporary shelters. “I appreciate Cambodia’s leadership and the dedication of health workers who continue delivering life-saving vaccines and strengthening surveillance,” he said.

“Together we can stop this outbreak and ensure that every child grows up healthy and protected,” Ghebreyesus added, emphasizing the importance of international solidarity.

He also referred to the strong cooperation with the World Bank, which enabled a Starlink-supported connectivity pilot in 20 health facilities in South Sudan.

“In a context where access and communication are difficult, this project bridged the gap between detecting an event and responding to it, strengthened rapid intervention, and protected communities across the country,” he said.
