Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking to soldiers in Varces-Allières-et-Risset in the French Alps, said the service would begin in mid-2026 and help France respond to “accelerating threats” on the global stage.

Nearly 30 years after France abolished mandatory conscription, Macron said he would not reverse that decision, but added: “We need mobilisation.”

“France cannot stand idle,” Macron said. He expressed his belief that French youth are “eager to participate” and that there is a young generation “ready to stand up for their country.”

Under the new service, men and women—mostly aged 18 and 19—will be able to volunteer for 10 months. They will receive at least €800 per month, along with food and accommodation, and a 75% discount on train travel. Macron stated they will be deployed “only on national territory.” A minority with specific qualifications, such as engineering or medicine, may serve until the age of 25.
