Ghebreyesus calls for expanded access to food and medicine in Gaza
Geneva, September 4 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the delivery of critical nutrition supplies to Al Nasser Hospital in Gaza.
Ghebreyesus stated that, in response to famine in Gaza, the WHO today distributed 4,900 units of infant and high-protein formula and 2,000 nutritional components to support hospitalized babies and patients at Al Nasser Hospital.
He emphasized that these supplies are vital for premature and hospitalized newborns who cannot be breastfed due to medical conditions, as well as for patients requiring special nutritional support. “We continue to call for expanded, sustainable, and safe access to food and medicine in Gaza,” Ghebreyesus said.
He also stressed that the best medicine is peace.
