Lahbib: Demining teams must always be protected and never targeted
Brussels, September 4 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, condemned the attack on a humanitarian demining mission in Chernihiv.
Commissioner Lahbib reported that a Russian missile had targeted a humanitarian demining mission in Chernihiv.
She noted that two deminers from the Danish Refugee Council lost their lives.
"Humanitarian demining teams risk their lives to clear the land of the deadly remnants of war. They must always be protected and never targeted."
