Guterres: Technology should be guided by humanity, not the other way around
New York, January 17 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that humanity should not be governed by technology, but that technology must be governed by humanity.
UN Secretary-General Guterres stated that artificial intelligence and the algorithms shaping our lives are not trivial matters that can be left to the control of only a few companies or optimized solely to commercialize attention and anger.
Emphasizing the need to build protective frameworks, accountability and common standards, Guterres said: “Technology should be guided by humanity; not the other way around.”
