Israeli drones dropped hand grenades near UN peacekeepers in Lebanon
Stockholm, September 3 (Hibya) - UNIFIL announced that Israeli drones dropped hand grenades near peacekeepers in Lebanon. UNIFIL stated: "This is one of the most serious attacks against UNIFIL personnel and assets since the ceasefire in November."
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that on Tuesday morning, Israeli drones dropped four hand grenades near peacekeepers who were working to clear barricades blocking access to UN positions in an area near Lebanon’s southern border with Israel.
The statement noted that one grenade fell 20 meters from UN personnel and vehicles, while the other three landed about 100 meters away, adding that the drones were seen returning towards Israel.
In a statement issued Wednesday, UNIFIL said: "This is one of the most serious attacks against UNIFIL personnel and assets since the agreement ending hostilities was signed last November."
